I hope you’re well.
We’ve been busy today checking guests in to the Pods and Bell Tents.
It’s been brilliant to see peoples reactions when opening the zips to the Bell Tents!
Especially those who have been before and stayed in the Pods.
They’ve been loving all the extra space and nice little touches in the Tents.
The smell of the canvas takes a lot of people back to when they were young and had their first camping trips.
It’s been brilliant hearing people’s camping tales, and remembering my own.
The most memorable being 5 of us squeezing in to a little Vauxhall Nova and driving from Derby to Italy – Camping gear and all… How we fit in I’ll never know!
I would have been around 12 or 13 and remember it being such a squeeze!
Worth it though for the pizza’s alone!
& the Ice cream was something else!
Feel free to hit reply and let me know your own experiences of camping trips from days gone by.
Time to announce the winner of April’s competition, and it’s a BIG well done to Martin Lee – you’ve won a Free Stay & the Kids Pack! Congratulations!
I’ll run a new email competition in May.
It’s been a time for new faces at the site…
We recently welcomed Charlotte who’s helping to keep the place looking at it’s best, and has been putting in some real shifts (thank you Charlotte!)
Chelsea will be starting with us on Tuesday, again to help keep the site clean, neat and tidy.
& Also Tom – who’s come on board to help out in the office, look after our guests and give advice on the fishing.
Tom’s just been out now from 7pm – 8pm and managed 3 catches – including a stunning common Carp weighing in just over 12lbs!
If you’re on TikTok – and in to your fishing, search for ‘Tom Hilton’.
I’ll leave it there for now…
Have a great day.
All my best,
Camp Site Manager (& off home now after some long hours!)

Had a lovely 2 night break with my girlfriend. Staff were friendly and helpful, they were also easily accessible through phone numbers left in the pods.
It was very quiet and peaceful for the duration of the stay, we spent the first night walking around the farm and ponds before having a small campfire by the pod.
The only downside is lack of charging ports in the pods (they do offer charging facilities in the main cabin however).
Only a minor inconvenience to an otherwise lovely stay. Would definitely return!

Lovely place, friendly staff. We stayed in pod 1 with hot tub for the weekend and really enjoyed it, would definitely come back again. Nice carp lake to fish with carp up to around 20lb
